STATEMENT OF FAITH

What We Believe About God

 - The Bible teaches that there is only one living and true God, the Maker and supreme Ruler of heaven and earth, inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, worship, and love.

(I Corinthians 8:6; Isaiah 6:3; Revelations 4:11; Exodus 20:2,3; Psalm 14:1; Psalm 19:1; Psalm57:11; I Corinthians 10:31; II Corinthians 4:15)

What We Believe About the Scriptures

 – We believe the Bible was written (verbally inspired) by Spirit-controlled men; and is therefore truth without error. The Bible is the very words of God written down to man, and is the only infallible rule for all human conduct, creed and opinions.

(II Timothy 3:16, 17; Psalm 12; Psalm 19:7-11; II Peter 1:19-21)

What We Believe About Creation

 – We believe God created the heavens and the earth, including all life, each after their “own kind”, in seven literal days through His spoken word.

(Genesis 1-2; Colossians 1:16-17; John 1:3)

What We Believe About Heaven and Hell

 – We believe the Bible clearly teaches that there is a literal place called heaven where the saints (those who by faith trust in Christ’s saving grace) will spend eternity. We also believe the Bible clearly teaches that there is a literal place called Hell where those who have rejected Christ’s free sacrifice will spend eternity.

(Psalm 9:17; Mark 9:43-45; Revelation 20:11-15; John 14:1-3; Revelation 21)

What We Believe About Man’s Sinful Nature

 – We believe God created the first man Adam in innocence, but by voluntary disobedience to the command of God, he fell into sin, thereby putting all mankind under condemnation before God. Now, all men are sinners by their very nature.

(Genesis 5:1-2; Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 5:10-19; Romans 3:10)

What We Believe About Salvation

 – We believe that because of our sins, we are under the condemnation of God. The only escape from that condemnation is thru the shed blood of the Savior, Jesus Christ and believing in His death, burial, and resurrection for our sins.  Jesus has provided us with a way to escape the penalty of sin “once for all”.  We believe salvation is wholly by grace thru faith, and no works, however “good”, can obtain or secure it.

(Hebrews 9:16-22; I Peter 1:18-19; II Corinthians 5:21; Romans 3:24-25; Romans 5:6-9; John 10:18; I Peter 2:24; Hebrews 10:12-14; Acts 16:31; John 3:36; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10, 13)

What We Believe About Baptism

 – We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water to give an outward affirmation (showing) of faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior with the purpose of showing our own spiritual death to sin and resurrection to a new life in Christ.

(Acts 8:26-39; Romans 6:4-5; Colossians 2:12; Luke 3:21-22)

What We Believe About the Church

 – We believe the Church was established by Jesus Christ, and that He is its sole head. The church is composed of believers in Jesus Christ, who have been called out from the world and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. The purpose of the Church is to evangelize the World, edify the saints, and to glorify the Saviour. We believe that believers should attend and participate in a local New Testament church, where they can worship Christ, take part in carrying out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19), fellowship with other saints, and grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour.

(Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Acts 1:8; Acts 2; Ephesians 4; John 4:24; I Corinthians 16:2; Hebrews 10:25)

What We Believe About the New Birth (A Changed Life)

We believe when a person receives Christ he is a new creature. The old man has been crucified with Christ and as a Christian we are called out from the world and separated to serve Christ. Through Christ, a believer should surrender to the Spirit in the daily walk and be good ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ. When we yield our members to the flesh, Christ is our advocate that we have with the Father that we may be accepted of God. Christians have a new life in Christ and old ways and habits are thrown out so that we may walk with Christ. We believe the ultimate purpose of any creature is to bring glory and honor to God Almighty.

(Eph.5:1-5, I Corinthians 10:31; I John 1-3; II Corinthians 5:14-21)
